Mark Burrows AO is a veteran investment banker and corporate leader whose career spans London and Australia.
He co-founded Baring Brothers Burrows, one of Australia’s first investment banks, and later held senior roles including Managing Director and Deputy Chairman of ING Barings (London), inaugural Chairman of Lazard Australia, and Vice Chairman of Credit Suisse’s Global Investment Bank.
Over three decades he has advised on landmark corporate, sovereign, and government transactions, helped develop Australia’s superannuation system, and contributed to the creation of ASIC.
A long-time advocate for sustainable finance, Mark is Special Advisor to the United Nations Environment Programme and UNDP, Senior Advisor to the Climate Bonds Initiative, and serves on the Asian Board of The Nature Conservancy.
He has also held board and leadership roles with major companies including Brambles, Telstra, Fairfax, Healthscope, and Coates Hire.
